Tillie was a longtime resident of Elk Grove, CA, born May 2, 1912, in Gackle, ND. She was the youngest of 14 children. She went home to Heaven on August 5, 2005. She will be missed by her husband of 15 years, David Huleva, son Jim Hubbard of Carmel, and daughters Carols Hillman of Lodi, Jennie Hardesty of Elk Grove, and Betty Ruddock of La Habra, and nine grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren, whom she loved to spoil.
She was an active member of Elk Grove First Baptist Church for 67 years, where she was a Sunday School and Bible School teacher and a member of Women’s Missionary Society. She also enjoyed serving as a cook at Sky Mountain Christian Camp. Before moving into the town of Elk Grove, she lived on a farm on Point Pleasant Road.
She loved to garden, cook, bake, and grow beautiful roses. In recent years she helped at the Senior Citizen Center. She loved to Quilt, sew, and do ceramic work. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Christian Rau and her two sons Elroy and James.
